Hello,
I have a question about becomming a Police Officer for the LVMPD.
Is it possible to become an Officer in Las Vegas/USA if I am from Europe/Germany? I'm really interested in becomming an Officer in Las Vegas.

P.S.: Sorry, my English skills are not the best because I'm 14 years of age. But please take this question serious Razz

First of all you are too young to become a police officer, you must be 16-20 to be an explorer, which later opens up opportunity to become a PO.

WHAT IT TAKES (Directly off LVMPD)

*Explorers not only represent themselves but they represent the LVMPD and our community as well. To become an Explorer, young people must meet the following standards:
*Currently attending high school, graduated or have obtained a GED.
*Be of good moral habits with no arrest or conviction records for serious offenses, or multiple minor offenses. (Must be willing to submit to a complete background check.)
*If a minor, must have parental approval, which includes signatures by the applicant and his/er parents or guardians on a general liability release and medical waiver forms.
*Be of good mental and physical health.
*Must have or maintain a "C" average or above in school.
*Attend four consecutive probationary meetings, and upon conclusion of the fourth meeting, submit to an oral board given by members of the Explorer Post.

Get more information on this program that allows you to be the closest you can to a PO, before you can actually apply.

Thank you! I wasn't thinking about joining in the next days anyway. It would take like 7 years until I could move to Las Vegas. But thank you anyway.

Marco! I think it awesome that you have the heart and the interest to become a police officer in Las Vegas. We are considered one of the best agencies in the nation; personally I feel we are the best. You will need to become a citizen, dual citizenship is acceptable. We love having bilingual officers. My suggestion is to work on your English speaking and writing and research on what you need to do to obtain dual citizenship. There are numerous officers on this department who come from various countries. So I hope you keep your determination and we give you the opportunity to welcome you not only to the United States but also to a great career in Law Enforcement.

Ah, that's some great news.
If my parents let me do an exchange I will stick at my goal and try to become a PO in Las Vegas.
Is a citizenship same like the "Green Card"?

P.S.: I am working on my English every day.
