07/16/08 Sheriff's Hispanic Recruitment Council
The LVMPD established the Sheriff's Hispanic Recruitment Council in response to an enormous rise in our community's Spanish speaking population. This increasing population base also brings the need to provide police services to a culturally diverse community. The Council was established in April 2001 with 8 members. Today, it comprises of about 100 members including police officers, Hispanic business leaders and local community leaders.

The Hispanic Recruitment Council Goals:
• To increase the Hispanic representation of employees at LVMPD to equal that of the community.
• To help prepare Hispanics for a career at LVMPD.
• To educate our Hispanic youth in careers with LVMPD.

LVMPD Vision is to provide the best public safety and service in partnership with our community.

We invite everyone in the Las Vegas community to attend the Sheriff’s Hispanic Recruitment Council monthly meetings.
